Choose the correct CC Theme target, compare verified Codex and WorkBuddy versions, download boundaries and unsupported Windows status.
Reviewed
Codex for macOS
The current public v0.1.0 Codex installer download identifies Codex 26.715.21425 (5488). Current source compatibility records also document advanced testing against Codex 26.715.31251. Always match the release artifact and the exact installed build instead of combining version labels.
- Image and MP4 media
- Water ripple and directional WebP
- Reduced Motion static fallback
- Codex-only optional pet package support
WorkBuddy for macOS
The current public v0.1.0 WorkBuddy installer targets WorkBuddy 5.2.6. It supports the same three background render modes but uses its own adapter and package target. WorkBuddy rejects Codex-only pet data.
- Separate mac-workbuddy installer
- Image, MP4, ripple and directional modes
- No cross-application package application
- No claim of broad WorkBuddy market adoption
Windows status
The browser Studio can represent the format, but no Windows CC Theme installer or verified adapter is currently published. Windows remains pending until a real build, application surfaces, fallback and recovery workflow are tested.
- Do not use a macOS installer on Windows
- Do not interpret preview as verified installation support
- Follow the public compatibility matrix for status changes
Target selection questions
Can one .cctheme file work in both applications?
No. The current package identifies one target application and version. Export separate packages for Codex and WorkBuddy.
Why are the Codex download and compatibility versions different?
The published v0.1.0 release artifact and current source verification record refer to different exact builds. Use the artifact only with the version named by that release and consult current compatibility data separately.
Can I install CC Theme on Windows?
Not currently. There is no verified Windows installer or adapter.
Does Studio preview prove my app version is supported?
No. Preview explains the format; installation support comes from an exact verified compatibility record and matching release.
